“The negative is always louder than the positive.” That’s what Sheri Williams, three-term president of the Rolesville High School (RHS) PTSA, reminded Rolesville’s mayor and commissioners at the April 18 Town Board meeting. And then Williams and RHS Principal Dhedra Lassiter, along with seniors Sydni Williams and Oluchi Chukwunyere, addressed Mayor Frank Eagles and the commissioners for nearly an hour to highlight the achievements and good things happening at the school.

When the doors of Rolesville High School opened to freshmen and sophomores in 2013, it was a new beginning not only for the students but also for the staff and faculty. Many started at RHS alongside those freshmen who would become the school’s first full graduating class that populated the halls, classrooms, gyms, and fields of the big building on East Young Street. Some of them took the time to share their thoughts about the journey together.

New trash and recycliing bins 2017Big Changes for Rolesville’s Trash and Recycling Collection

Since 2008, the Town of Rolesville has contracted with Waste Industries to provide waste and recycling services. Rolesville residents already should have received a letter with their June waste collection bills to let them know that changes are coming. Veteran Waste Solutions will service the town starting in July.


Mayor/Town Commissioners Approve FY 2017-2018 Budget

The budget appropriates funding for purchases and projects cohesive with the town’s strategic goals, which call for improvement in the overall appearance of the Town of Rolesville, an increase in economic development efforts, expansion of municipal athletic facilities, improvement of the Town Center Complex and continued improvement of community relations.
