First Rolesville Buzz - July 200710th Anniversary: Buzzing Back in Time to Volume 1, No. 1, July 2007

In July 2007, the inaugural issue of the Rolesville Buzz rolled off the presses and into the mail. The brainchild of Bill Herrin – formerly of The News & Observer – the newspaper put Rolesville in the news in a big way, and this issue that you’re holding right now represents the 10-year mark for the monthly publication. And still, as the newspaper proudly proclaimed 10 years ago, it remains “FREE AS A BIRD.”

An idea years in the making came to fruition June 27 when the Town of Rolesville signed an offer to purchase 116 acres for a future parks and recreation facility. Town Manager Bryan Hicks said town officials hope to complete the purchase by the end of September.


Soto - swearing inFormer Rolesville Captain Takes New Role as Police Chief

The Rolesville Police Department will see a new face in the role of police chief, and that is the town’s former captain, Orlando Soto. Soto’s swearing-in ceremony took place June 23 at the Rolesville Town Hall.



July 4, 2017Rolesville Fourth of July Celebration Sparked with New Changes

This year’s celebration included a variety of additions and changes that organizers Paul and Danielle Vilga and nonprofit partner Kathy Fuerst implemented for the community, including the incorporation of product vendors, some new food vendors and a dunk tank featuring community figures.

Rolesville High School has a 2017 graduate to be particularly proud of: Michael B. Fowler II. Fowler has been accepted to upstate New York’s West Point Academy after four years of hard work in the classroom and on the field. With credit to his parents for always pushing him to do well in school and to use wise judgement of who to hang out with, he graduated with summa cum laude honors.
