Mom and M’s – On Saturday, December 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Mom and M’s will be hosting a charity drive for the Public Safety Charity Committee. See Charity Giving Opportunities article on page 3 in Section Bee for more information.

The Lighting of the Town’s Christmas Tree – Monday, December 7, 2009 at the Main Street Park Gazebo – Every year, the town selects and lights a Christmas tree decorated by a group of dedicated volunteers. The tree will be lit at 6:00 p.m. at Main Street Park under the large gazebo near South Main Street. All are welcome to attend.
Santa in the Park – Starting on Sunday, December 6, Santa will be stopping by the Gazebo at Rolesville Park to find out what your little ones want for Christmas. The dates and times are as follows:

Lighting of Wake Forest – Friday, December 4, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m., at the municipal parking lot, downtown Wake Forest. Mayor Vivian Jones will be lighting the tree, and music groups from local schools will provide entertainment. Santa will be making a special appearance on a horse-drawn carriage, and children armed with their wish lists will get the chance to visit with Santa and get their picture taken. Pictures with Santa – Saturday, December 5, 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the municipal parking lot, downtown Wake Forest. Children get to meet Santa and have their photo taken with the big jolly guy! Parents can also take their own photos at no charge, or the photos can be printed at CVS in downtown Wake Forest (48 hours after the event) for 25 cents each. Centennial Community Christmas Gala – Saturday, December 5, 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., at the Wake Forest Town Hall, located at 301 S. Brooks St. This is the final centennial celebration hosted by ABC11 Eyewitness News co-anchor, Steve Daniels. This will surely be a great night to remember. Camelot Christmas – Friday, December 5, and Saturday, December 6, at 13239 Capital Blvd. in Wake Forest. A unique winter festival of merriment and dance and shopping, where you’ll meet King Arthur, Guinevere, Merlin, and more. Event benefits the Historical Enrichment Society. Wake Forest Christmas Parade – Saturday, December 12, 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., catch an early glimpse of Santa and enjoy a fun-filled event for the entire family. With over 3,000 participants and 17,000 spectators, this will be a great afternoon of entertainment for all.
Breakfast with Santa and All-You-Can-Eat Pancakes and Sausage – Sunday, December 13, 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The American Legion Hall, 225 East Holding Ave. in Wake Forest. This month’s pancake breakfast features a visit from Santa. $5 per person and $20 max per family. Proceeds support community and veterans projects. Call (919) 494-2707.
Kids Night Out at Polar Ice House – Friday, December 18, 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., at the Polar Ice House, at The Factory. Kids are invited for a full night of fun with ice-skating, dinner, and games. $15 per child (ages 5-12), and $5 per sibling (ages 3-4). Registration is required.
