With the surge of the “shop local” movement, it’s become common knowledge that opting to spend money at a locally owned business as opposed to a larger corporate retailer has a more substantial impact on the local economy and the community as a whole.
The upcoming Shop Local Rolesville event on Saturday, August 15, gives Rolesville residents the opportunity to spread the patronage and support locally owned businesses around town.
Shoppers will have the opportunity to make an even bigger impact on the community during this event. Shop Local Rolesville is teaming up with North East Wake Back Pack Buddies to fill packs and keep kids fed over the summer. Organizers are asking for food donations – particularly peanut butter and Kraft Easy-Mac bowls – which can be dropped off at any participating Shop Local Rolesville merchant during the event.
For a full list of participants, see the Shop Local Rolesville ad on pages 8-9 of our August print edition. Each one of the merchants on those pages will be offering discounts and savings to show their appreciation for your business. While shopping, be sure to enter the drawings for prizes to be given away at each location.
Copies of the Buzz print edition are available in the box outside of the Rolesville Buzz office, 104 South Main Street.
The next Shop Rolesville is Saturday, November 28.
