Tammy Kaufman, a local artist loves to paint, and she loves animals. Through an unfortunate incident, she has found a charitable way to combine the two loves. Last week, despite being on routine flea and tick preventative and daily skin checks, her family dog, Frylie, was diagnosed with Lyme disease.
Frylie is lucky – he has a family who can afford to pay his medical bills, but there are many other animals who are not so fortunate.
Kaufman has put out a call to action by saying, “Together we can help!”
Kaufman is the Guest Artist for July at The Artists’ Loft, and her show – which consists of local landscapes hand painted in soft and oil pastels, will hang through the month of July. A portion of all sales of her work will be donated to the Good Samaritan Fund at Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care. This fund helps pay emergency veterinary bills for companion animals and wildlife with urgent medical needs.
The show’s Opening Reception is Friday, July 10, from 6-9 p.m. at The Artists’ Loft above Wake Forest Coffee, 156 South White Street in Wake Forest.
