Each year, the Rolesville Police Department chooses an officer of the year who best exemplifies the traits of working ability, personal relations and leadership potential. The nominees are graded in those categories by a vote of their peers. This year, the recipient of the award was Roy Holloway, the department’s Sergeant of Investigations.

“It was an honor to get the award because of all the talent in our department,” said Sergeant Holloway, who has been humble in the reception of such an honor.

Holloway began his career in law enforcement in 1991 and worked for many years as an investigator in Wendell. In December 2013, he made the transition to the Rolesville Police Department to become Sergeant of Investigations.

“Rolesville is a lot of fun,” Holloway said about the change. “This department is a great group of guys to work with. I couldn’t ask for a better group of guys. I’m glad I made the jump.”
